The Perfect Whole Wheat Scone

Mmm.. Scones. Healthy great tasting, filling scones. Or biscuits! I think this has more of a scone texture because its so soft, but lets face it, a scone is like a fancy biscuit.

So, I'm helping you out by giving you this delicious base recipe.
This recipe is for one large scone. These taste great with any sort of spread on top. (Such as my pumpkin butter... )

This recipe is also very versatile, you can make a sweet or savory scone depending on what spices you add. I plan to make these a lot and just change up the flavor!

Ingredients:
1/3 cups of wheat flour
1/2 tbsp. Splenda
1/2 tsp. of baking powder
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. of salt
(Optional dash of spices, I used cinnamon and pumpkin spice)
2 tbsp. unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp. egg beater
2 tbsp. unsweetened almond milk

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425. Combine dry and wet ingredients separately and mix. Then mix wet and dry ingredients together to form dough. Roll any optional ingredients into dough now. (Raisins, a few berries, oats, etc.)
Drop onto a pan that has been sprayed well with nonstick. Bake for 15 minutes. Enjoy with spread toppings like I did or eat plain!
